A conceptual framework for integrating Facility Layout and Production Scheduling in Flowshop Manufacturing Cells decisions

Objective: In this paper, a conceptual framework for integrating production scheduling in flowshop manufacturing cells, known as group (FSGSP), and unequal-area facility layout (UAFLP) decisions is proposed. Materials Methods: First, brief literature review carried out to identify the elements, solution techniques complementary UAFLP, FSGSP layout-scheduling approaches. Results: Based on results of 4-phase integrative model proposed integrate these decisions, based lean environment. The phases include input data collection preparation process, definition other optimization selection best alternative. Conclusions: integration using can achieve benefits related reduction mudas, such material handling, high work-in-process inventory levels setup times real, industrial contexts.
